There are three types of rocks. Igneous, metaphoric and sedimentary rocks, I am going to go through all three of these rocks and tell you a bit of information about them.  Igneous – These rock are made by mantle cooling. The earth is made of igneous rocks, basalt and carbonite are two examples of igneous rocks.  Metaphoric- this is when a rock is changed by applying either heat of pressure of both. Marble and slate are two examples of a metaphoric rock.  Sedimentary – this is when layers of material build up over thousands of years and become rock. Sandstone and limestone are two example of this.
